## What is CVForge?

CVForge (cvforge.in) is a SaaS tool that helps job seekers improve and beautify their resumes using AI. Users either upload an existing resume (PDF, DOC, DOCX) OR describe their experience in plain words. The AI extracts the content, optionally rewrites bullets and injects ATS keywords, and the user downloads the result in one of seven professional templates as PDF or Word.

## How it works

1. **Upload or describe** — Upload a PDF/DOC/DOCX file, OR paste a free-form description of your experience (name, jobs, dates, projects, skills). No account or email required.
2. **AI extraction** — GPT-4o-mini reads the input and extracts structured data (name, experience, education, skills, projects, certifications, etc.).
3. **Choose template** — Pick from 7 professionally designed templates with live preview.
4. **Preview** — Toggle between Original / AI-Optimised / My Edits. Compare side-by-side before paying.
5. **Pay & download** — Small one-time payment unlocks PDF or Word download.

## Pricing

- **₹5 per download** — Download resume in chosen template (PDF or Word, original or optimized).
- **₹9 — AI Optimize** — Rewrites bullets with strong action verbs, injects ATS keywords, quantifies achievements where the source has numbers, never invents facts. Downloads sold separately.
- **₹25 — Real-Time AI Editor (2 hours)** — Inline edit any text, ask AI to rewrite a bullet, add new sections via AI, rearrange layout, undo/redo. Includes 1 free PDF or Word download. A recovery code is issued so the session can be resumed if the browser closes.

- **Campus** — Projects-first layout, designed for college students and freshers.
- **Classic Fresher** — Lean version of Classic for first-time applicants.

## Referral programme

CVForge has an opt-in referral programme at /refer. Sign up with email + 6-digit OTP, get a 6-character referral code (e.g. RAJ4K7). Friends paste your code at checkout. Points: ₹5 download = 1 pt, ₹9 optimise = 2 pts, ₹25 editor = 3 pts. 6 points unlocks a free 2-hour editor session (₹25 value). Lifetime cap of 3 free editors per referrer. Self-referral allowed (same card / same resume only counts once).

## Important Notes

- No account/login required for the core flow — all session data lives in the browser tab.
- Resume content is processed in-memory by OpenAI and not stored on our servers.
- Payments are one-time per download — each payment allows exactly one file download (except the editor's bundled free download).
- Supports resumes in English. Optimized for Indian job market (ATS keywords, INR pricing).
- Mobile-friendly — works on iOS and Android browsers.
- AI optimisation forbids common buzzwords (Spearheaded, Leveraged, Synergies, Stakeholders, Cutting-edge, Passionate about, Robust solutions, Results-driven, Detail-oriented, Hard-working, Team player, etc.) to keep output recruiter-ready, not robotic.
- AI never invents companies, dates, roles, or numbers — only rewrites what the user provides.
